National Children's Hospital Cancer Ward - Outreach Feeding Program

The desire to share God's blessings started on my 50th birthday thus a year later on my 51st year, I decided to have a feeding program at the National Children's hospital in E Rodriguez Ave. Quezon City as a post birthday celebration last Oct 03, 2016. The hospital is located near St. Luke's Hospital, Trinity College and besides Jollibee E. Rodriguez.

Most of the children are cancer patients ages from less than a year to 18 years old. Some of them had to undergo chemotherapy every month while others have been undergoing chemo every year.

My mask is due to dental issue while his mask is for his health.

Some of my friends from my former work at Duty Free Phils ( Allie,  Milo, Vangie,  Joy, Ate Rubie) joined in the outreach as well as my sister with her kids ( Len/Max, Kim & Enrico), a church mate  (Jo),  staff in SM Makati (Monett) and a colleague from SM Cubao ( Oien) and her friends. They also brought toys and gifts.

We asked the support of  relatives and friends for the needs of the patients. The basic need is a special milk IGCO with colostrum which is quite pricey at P2,500.00 per carton (contains 30 pouches). Each patient had to take 1 drink (1 pouch) 3x a day before they undergo chemotherapy . We also brought stuff toys, coloring books and biblical comics .

I am very blessed to have family and friends whose hearts are also for sharing God's blessings. The team is divided to do different tasks such as story telling, coloring activity and praying for the children.

There are about thirty patients at the cancer ward while another 15 patients at the children's ward at the time of our visit.

Jollibee really brought smiles to the children's faces.

These children are normal kids who also want to play, sing and dance. They are just in a condition that  makes it difficult for them to do so.
However, there are many ways to help these children:

1. sponsor a child's one whole chemo package

2. sponsor one chemo therapy medication

3.sponsor the special milk ( Iglo available in selected Mercury outlet)

4. pray for them

5. visit them 

6. talk to them and play with them

God bless these children and their families as well as their sponsors.

Life of Christian Missionaries in the Badjao Community of Batangas City

It was Holy Thursday when we conducted the outreach in two (2) Badjao Communities in Batangas City. This is part of PCAC mission core to do mission works amongst the tribal group of the Phils. In coordination with The Badjao Christian Church in Cantellon II headed by Pastor Albert Santiago and wife Mommy Helen who are already working in this community for the past thirteen years and with Sis Rachel Bas who is a former missionary to China and Tita Rose who is working in the Wawa Badjao Community.

We left PCAC at 5:00 am, our 1^st stop was at the Jolibee Batangas for the meet up with Sis Rachel, we came in early so we have time for breakfast. When Sis Rachel arrived with her sister, she describe her life as a missionary as “masarap”

.

 She recently married a British missionary she met at the field. Her experienced of God’s perfect timing with her financial needs are very encouraging, she was praying for  $350.00 for her tuition fee when a Black American lady missionary she had met for the 1^st time in the café she was working had a chat with her and the next day gave her the exact amount she needed because God had spoken to the lady to bless Sis Rachel. Another incident that required her to pray for $1,000.00 was answered but it was a sacrificial gift from another foreign missionary who was also praying for tuition fee. Though she also experienced hardship in the field such as interrogation by the police, eating spoiled food, delayed financial support, difficulty in the harvest of souls, she only had two (2) converts during her three years in the field.

Ptr Albert was head of a church in Bulacan when God called him to do mission works among the Badjao in Batangas. The couple is independently running the community which started in Malitam where in they had to abandon because the island was slowly being reclaimed by nature. 

We were surprised by the improvement in the lives and community of the Badjaos, the  houses they live in, the concrete church and the education of the children. 

The couple was able to finance the studies of Arlene, (the interpreter) now a licensed teacher. There are other young people who were able to finish 2 yr courses.

We were amazed by  God's signs & wonders manifesting in the lives of these couple working with the Badjao. God sent people , foreign Tribal King, Chinese businessman among others to help finance the building of the school and its tables & chairs, the medical needs of the slip disc of Ptr Albert. The alimango waiting at the door step of their house so that they will have a good meal that day. The big nail that pierced the head of Ptr Albert making his blood spurt out.

The couple also experienced hardship living inside the community such as the sanitation issue, financial support and the tradition of the Badjao. But God is truly faithful that all their needs are met, their strength renewed daily and their health restored.

KAIROS - my missions awakening course

I attended the Kairos course on June 2015 under the sponsorship of Pasay City Alliance Church to all interested leaders of the church. My interest in studying during free time paved the way for my taking on the course and the schedule which will not affect my work.

The Kairos Course is a nine-session, interactive course on world Christian missions, designed to educate, inspire and challenge Christians for active and meaningful participation. It is ideally suited for local churches, organizations, or special interest groups such as Christian business people.

Majority of our classmates were from the Young people /Achievers group  of the Church and minority were the leaders of the different fellowship groups thus we have a diverse class.

The cousre facilitators or FACI came from different churches as well, our head FACI was Garicell, who happened to be a missionary to China and about to go on a short missionary trip to India.

Our classes were mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. The FACIs will join you in your journey to the course about missions.

There were lots of enjoyable activities but more of eye opening lessons and touch the heart messages.

Kairos course was only the start, there's more to what GOD is leading me to do. The seed for reaching the Unreached People Group was planted in my heart thru this course and I claimed that God will continue to direct me in the  right path to take, however little steps those maybe, I am willing to be lead for His glory.

We are  blessed that our senior pastor has an open heart and mind about missions and we are more blessed to have another church  pastor who is the head of Asian Center for Missions.

The RETURN to the Lolas & Lolos of San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly

We went back to the center on October 11, 2015 Sunday, in a small group, seven (7) from SM Makati and three (3) from Pasay City Alliance Church. It was just to finish off the excess financial support from my friends for the 50th outreach birthday celebration last September 13, 2015.

The money that was collected were use to buy Tshirts with spiritual messages. Mhedy lend a hand by doing the shopping at Divisoria and also helped in the packaging.. She also joined the group with her son  (Sev) and friend (Joan).

My office staff joined me in the afternoon, chikahan and gift giving to the lolas and lolos.

It was unfortunate that we were bumped off from our previous merienda schedule but it was also a blessings in disguise that we were given a slot after their afternoon prayer until their dinner time because we had more time to chat with the grannies.

This is Lolo Carlos Concepcion, he was alone at the lobby when we arrived, the other elderly were upstairs attending the afternoon mass.

The elderly had a busy day since they have guests during lunch and merienda, so we were the 3rd group that visited that Sunday.

Elderly who are already sickly and in wheel chairs mostly take their dinner at the 2nd floor dining area. So we went their first since they were the first to be served with food.

Many of the elderly did not anymore remember me though it was only a month before that I celebrated my birthday with them. Though some of the  younger grand parents still recall the activity, the picture from the photo booth helped most of them to remember.

When we went downstairs, the elderly are already having their dessert, mamon. So we had time to chat with them. 

Each table have one of my group members to chat with and the talented Lola and Lolos  performed for us.

Lolo Carlos always wants to be separated from the group

She's always asking " bakit ngayon ka lang dumating" , as if she's really waiting for us to come back.

Others request us to come back, making me feel that it was really lonely at the center without visitors.

Most of the Lolos & Lolas have a better life inside the center than when they were with their family or outside the center. Others have good positions in their previous work place but found themselves bankrupt and needed the center for shelter. Most of them abandoned. What ever is their previous status in life, they all find in the center God's love and provision.

May we also find in our hearts to be GOD's extension of HIS compassion  to these LOLOs and LOLAs by  giving them happiness thru simply spending time with them.
